Candle Warmers, Lose Scent?

horror, secrets and lies Comme Les Autres

From 'Pepi, Luci, Bom and Other Girls on the Heap "(1980) to' Volver '(2006), Pedro Almodóvar has become one of the most important filmmakers of the world. Acclaimed English director has been showing his evolution as a writer and director in each of their films, and now with 'Broken Embraces' offers one of his most mature.

The story is centered on the film director Matthew White, who hid under the pseudonym Harry Caine, fleeing a dark past who condemned him to go blind for the rest of his life. Accustomed to the dark alone, she is writing scripts with the help of his faithful friend Judith and his son Diego as an assistant, a quiet life until the appearance of the mysterious X Ray who happens to be the son of Ernesto Martel, consequently resulting in the memory of Lena and the revelation of a great secret.

Penelope Cruz, one of the girls Almodóvar's most beloved by audiences and won an Oscar for her role in Vicky Cristina Barcelona, \u200b\u200breturns to take the lead role in the film accompanied by Blanca Portillo and Lluis Homar, and as is usual Almodovar also has some great cameos of old friends and muses Chus Lampreave, Carmen Machi, Lola Duenas and Angela Molina.

Broken Embraces marks a new stage for Almodóvar, a dark history and different that not only can be seen in history, but you may feel watching every frame of film. Colors very bright and strongly contrasted have declined by more sober tone, the narration is slow and for a change, we have an antagonistic character.

Carpe Diem.
